Timberline Vestibule: Good storage, bad airflow, February 16, 2008 By This add on is a must have for people who will be using this tent in a nasty weather environment. (Rain or snow) While there are few directions included with this item, you can pretty much figure it out by looking at the illustration included. This vestibule adds almost a third more area to your already spacious timberline. Anyone who has done any hiking knows that you don't want your nasty gear in the living area with you all night! There is no floor to the vestibule, but the sides do underlap, and provide good flooding protection. I really must say that I don't use mine as much as I thought I would due to the fact that it REALLY cuts down on airflow into and out of the tent. It just seems that unless your really take care to orient your tent to a constant wind, that it will get very stuffy very quickly. I highly recommend the rain fly that is also sold for this tent provides rain protection, but not wind or downpour.

Fortunately I reread the description before sending in the order, and confirmed the proper one to get. I can't emphasize it enough. Make sure you get the right size. If you have any doubt, call Eureka and ask. They were very helpful to me when I double checked the size before ordering. I checked mine out during daylight and am glad I did. It is a very tight fit. But, as long as you have the poles in properly, it does fit.
The directions don't mention it goes on before the rain fly until past the 1/2 way point. I know! I know! But, I first put up the tent and attached the fly before adding the vestibule. No, I did not have a picture of the proper attachment available. Despite what many say about men and directions, I WAS reading them. The shock cord that wraps it to the front poles is a very tight fit. I had to work mine from one side, up over the top, and down to the other.
