MSR Hubba Hubba Tent Reviews
5 of 5 people found the following review helpful Great all around, July 5, 2011 By This review is from: MSR Hubba Hubba Tent (Sports) I've owned this tent for about two years now, and have taken it on a 5-day backpacking trip in Colorado, a 3 day camping trip on Dry Tortugas Island, and several smaller camping trips in between, and it has held up amazingly in every condition. With the rain fly on, this thing is solid. I've sat in it through hail and heavy rain without a problem. It did fairly well in very windy situations, though there were less attachments for guy lines than I'd like.
The tent is amazingly easy to put up; I've put it up in almost complete darkness in a matter of minutes. It sleeps two fairly well(I was never forced to get 'too comfortable' with the other person in the tent. And even if you're trying to fit two x-large men in the tent, you can now purchase an add-on gear vestibule(which weighs just over 1 lb), shove all your gear in there and get more legroom. The weight of the tent itself is decent(4lbs 8oz), and has really been no problem for me.
Overall, this tent has been worth every... Read more
5 of 5 people found the following review helpful Award winning for a reason!, June 27, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: MSR Hubba Hubba Tent (Sports) I use my Hubba Hubba for solo and two-man backpacking trips, and sadly my last tent made it's way to tent heaven. This is the second of it's kind to make it's way into my pack, and while it's not the lightest of the light, it has so much else going for it.
The weight is actually quite nice in comparison to this tent's contemporaries. It's very simple to pitch, my 11 year old can do it in less than 2 minutes.
Plenty of room for solo sleeping, as well as a "man-sized" human and possibly another of equal or lesser size. I have only slept 2 adults in my HH once, and while it was tight by my personal standards, no lines of decency were ever breached. Two bags, side by side, toes to ears, it was really quite roomy. Plenty of room to sit up and drink a cup of coffee or simply stretch out a bit before feeding the mosquitoes.
This being my second of this make, I feel speaks volumes for the quality in all facets. I look forward to carrying this tent on my... Read more
2 of 2 people found the following review helpful Quit wasting time, buy this tent., May 14, 2012 By Todd in Memphis "Todd" (Memphis) - See all my reviews This review is from: MSR Hubba Hubba Tent (Sports) I'll admit, I'm not the expert on outdoor equipment, but I can tell you this. I've hauled this tent up Mt Whitney, through the Ozarks and just over a week on the AT and it has never let me down. A friend bought a competing product that weighed around a pound lighter. He has admitted on more than one occasion that he wished that he should have went with the Hubba Hubba. It sets up fast. There has been a few times where I hit my site just before dark and I can have this thing setup in 2 minutes or less. I've also setup and broken it down in the dark without any problems. There is a single pole that begins to automatically snap into place thanks to a elastic cord that runs through it. You will have to guide a couple into their slots, but there is no guesswork on how. I've been in rain where the water got funneled under the tent. I literally placed my hand on the tent floor and it was floating on two inches of water, the inside was still dry. I don't know if it would have survived... Read more
