Always wanted one, and my dreams are realized!, July 5, 2011 By Loudsue (San Diego, CA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Kodiak Canvas Flex-Bow 6-Person Canvas Tent, Deluxe (Sports) I have always pined after canvas tents, but their bulk, number of pieces, and price had always kept me from purchasing. The Kodiak flex bow 6 person canvas tent is a dream. I took it car camping in Colorado 9000ft with my 3yr old. I am a 38 year old solo parent, 5' 6", 120, but strong (I carry my 30lb daughter like she's a peanut, and sometimes a friend of hers too). I had no problem carrying the tent or poles, as long as they're separate. For our first test, I did have help from a friend who was camping in a nearby tipi. He and I thought the directions, as far as the tension rods slipping into and tent material, lacked specifics, but after 2 failed attempts (just 15 minutes) we used our heads and realized that logically it could only go up one way. Total time was 25-30 minutes, but it should have been 10-15. In the future, I could assemble the poles and tent alone, but getting it upright may take help from someone larger than a 3 year old. Hard pressed, I'm sure I could do... Read more

Fabulous family tent, March 3, 2012 By navyblue (USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Kodiak Canvas Flex-Bow 6-Person Canvas Tent, Deluxe (Sports) We borrowed my husband's parents 20+ year old Springbar tent one year and were really impressed by how well it had held up and how easy it was to set up. Tired of our thin ripstop nylon tent with broken poles, we decided we wanted a Springbar for ourselves. However, the price and wait time (they are custom made for each customer) gave us pause. When we found the Kodiak Canvas website we were thrilled! The founder used to work at Springbar, I understand, and view these tents as less a 'knock off' and more an improvement on a good thing. They were more affordable and available for shipping immediately.
We bought this 6 man deluxe version three years ago and have had no problems whatsoever. It is sturdy, strong, waterproof, keeps us warm in cold weather, is super easy to put up (even when it's just me and the kids and dad's home working), and we absolutely love it.
This tent gets a lot of use from us, we go camping every weekend we can throughout the summer,... Read more
Excellent Tent, June 2, 2012 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Kodiak Canvas Flex-Bow 6-Person Canvas Tent, Deluxe (Sports) Most boy scout troops in my area use Spring Bar tents which are very durable. This tent is very similar, but has a few extra nice features like the vents near the top, the front flap which gives you a front porch, and nice hanging pockets to keep things like flashlights. I think the bottom may be even thicker than Spring Bar and the tent costs a couple hundred dollars less.
I bought this tent for my family because I wanted a very durable tent which could withstand a severe thunderstorm. I first saw this tent at a Father and Son camp out a few weeks ago. A good friend had this tent and couldn't recommend it enough. We decided to overnight it and try it out this weekend. It takes a little getting used to, to set it up and take down, but it wasn't very difficult. I love how the carrying bag folds over the tent and has cinch straps. You never has to stuff it into a bag again. I love this tent!
